Can you 3D print polypropylene?

Yes. 3D Infinity Printing prints polypropylene on FDM equipment as a production material. Polypropylene is one of the harder thermoplastics to print because it warps and resists bed adhesion, which is why comparatively few FDM shops offer it. We use it where its properties matter: chemical resistance, moisture resistance, fatigue resistance and living hinges.

Can a 3D printed living hinge survive repeated flexing?

A living hinge printed in polypropylene can flex thousands of cycles without cracking, because polypropylene has the fatigue resistance that hinge geometry depends on. The same hinge printed in PLA or PETG will crack early. If your part needs an integrated hinge rather than separate hardware, polypropylene is the material that makes it viable on an FDM machine.

Why 3D print jigs and fixtures instead of machining them?

Printed fixtures are usually chosen for lead time and iteration rather than raw strength. A fixture can be quoted in a day and delivered in days rather than waiting on machine-shop capacity, and when the line changes the fixture can be revised and reprinted rather than re-machined. Printed fixtures also weigh less, which matters for tooling an operator handles all shift.

FDM or resin for functional parts?

FDM for functional and durable parts, resin for visual detail and surface finish. FDM prints engineering thermoplastics such as polypropylene, nylon, PETG and carbon-fibre reinforced filament, which take mechanical load, heat and chemical exposure. Resin parts generally look better and are more brittle. 3D Infinity Printing is an FDM shop and does not offer resin, SLA, SLS or metal printing.

What materials does 3D Infinity Printing offer?

Engineering thermoplastics on FDM equipment, including polypropylene, PPS and PPS-CF, PETG, nylon and carbon-fibre reinforced filament. Material is selected for the application: polypropylene for chemical exposure, washdown and living hinges; PPS and PPS-CF for high heat and aggressive chemical environments; nylon and carbon fibre for stiffness and wear; PETG for general-purpose functional parts.

Do you ship 3D printed parts nationwide?

Yes. 3D Infinity Printing operates from Columbia, Missouri and St. Petersburg, Florida and ships finished parts to customers throughout the United States. Files are submitted online, so location does not affect turnaround.

Can you make a replacement part for a machine that is no longer supported?

Often, yes. If the geometry can be measured or modelled, a discontinued plastic component can be reproduced in an engineering thermoplastic. Send the broken part or a drawing and we will confirm whether it is a good candidate before quoting.

Can 3D printing replace CNC machining for production parts?

For low-volume plastic parts with complex geometry, often yes: printing wins on lead time and cost because there is no fixturing or programming, and design changes cost nothing. For tight-tolerance fits, high clamping loads or metal parts, machining keeps the edge, and we will tell you when that is the case. The two also work together - many of the parts we print are jigs, soft jaws and fixtures that make machining and assembly operations faster.

What tolerances can FDM 3D printing hold?

Realistically about plus or minus 0.2 mm on most features, or around 0.2 percent on larger dimensions - coarser than CNC machining, and any FDM shop claiming micron-level precision is overselling. Where one dimension is critical we design for it: orient the part so the tolerance falls in the plane of the print, iterate the fit, or leave stock for light post-machining. We confirm achievable tolerance for your specific geometry at quote time.

Can you 3D print PPS or PPS-CF?

Yes. 3D Infinity Printing prints polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and carbon-fibre reinforced PPS (PPS-CF) on FDM equipment - semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastics for high heat and aggressive chemical environments where even polypropylene gives up. Very few FDM services offer PPS; it sits alongside our polypropylene work as a specialty.
